About Troop 11

Troop 11 is located in Acushnet Massachusetts and is sponsored by the Acushnet Wesley United Methodist Church, furhtermore they are a part of the Cachalot District of the Narragansett Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Troop 11 serves boys aged 11-18 from Acushnet and the surrounding communities. Troop 11  is a small troop, emphasizing a wide range of activities that appeals to both younger and older Scouts by offering  a fun and exciting outdoor program which boys plan and execute activities under the guidance of adult leaders. This allows the boys to learn leadership other important an skills while participating in activities which they enjoy.

Troop 11 meets every Wednesday night during the school year (except when notice is given otherwise on this website) and allows the boys to run the troop and to do activities which interest them both during meetings and a very active outdoor program with at least one major activity scheduled each month  which may include a campout (Troop 11 camps year-round), a trip to a sports event, or  another event such as rock climbing.  In addition to their monthly activities, Troop 11 participates in several council sponsored activities and and spends a week of summer camp at Camp Squanto which is located in the Miles Standish State Forest in Plymouth Mass, where a trained staff provide the boys with opportunities to learn a number of skills while trying new things and working on their advancement.
